Chess players – participants of the Slovak Championship in chess, which took place in Banská Štiavnica also contributed with their paintings to our project. The stars of the tournament definitely included young and gifted chess player Hikaru Nakamura, originally from Japan, who ranks among the best American players at the moment. As a 10 year old, he became the youngest chess grandmaster in the history of the US. He also became a world champion and represented the USA at the chess olympics. His passion for chess was also presented in his painting for the PEG project – he painted a chess night scene.
